Biography
Koyar Sanlo Rane received his B.Sc (Chemistry/Physics) and M.Sc (Inorganic Chemistry) degrees from Karnataka University, India and Ph.D (Catalysis) from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay (Mumbai) in 1976. He had post-doctoral research at IIT-Madras (India), Pune University (India), University of Karlsruhe (Germany), UMIST-Manchester (UK), Washington University in St. Louis (USA). He taught at Gogte Institute of Technology (GIT), Belgaum (India) and at Goa University, Goa, India, and served the university in a capacity as a Professor and Head of the Department of Chemistry, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Science, Chairman of the Board of Studies/Examinations, and Member of the Academic Council/University Court, Coordinator of the University Grants Commission’s (UGC), Special Assistance Program (SAP), and Department of Science and Technology FIST program. Currently, after superannuation, actively coordinating the Research Project funded by the Vision Group on Science and Technology (VGST), Karnataka, India.

Main field of research is Solid State Chemistry, Materials Science.
