Biography
Zhenhai Xia received his Ph.D. degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from Northwestern Polytechnic University in 1990. He served on the faculty of Hebei University of Technology as professor and department chair, and now a full Professor of Materials Sciece and Engineering of University of North Texas, USA. Dr. Xia received Nanoscience Research Leader Award 2015, and China Changjiang Scholar Award 2016, and served as an associate editor of J. Sci. Lett. He have authored and co-authored over 150 papers, and published 4 books/book chapter. The significance of my work is documented by numerous scientific and business presses such as MIT Technology Review, and New York Times.
Research Interest
(1) Nanomaterials for catalysts, battery electrodes, renewable energy conversion and storage (fuel cell, metal-air batteries, supercapacitors and solar cells); (2) Biological and biomimetic materials; (3) Sensors, sensing and damage detection for energy-related applications and (4) Multiscale modeling and simulation, combining quantum mechanics, molecular dynamics, Monte Carlo, mesoscale modeling and finite element for energy-relation modeling and predictions
